The Niagara County Department of Public Works (DPW) announced Rapids Road will be closed between the Bartz-Crosby Road intersection and Raymond Road beginning Monday, October 6.  Detour signs will be posted, and the closure is expected to last approximately five weeks.

The closure is part of a roughly six-million dollar project that includes full depth shoulder reconstruction, and cold in-place recycling (CIR) of the travel lanes with a top course overlay to restore the riding surface on Raymond and Rapids Roads.  In addition, the project includes reconstruction work with grade adjustments at the Bartz/Crosby and Minnick Road intersections with Rapids Road.

“We recognize the inconvenience of road closings and detours, and as always, we appreciate the public’s patience while we complete our road construction projects,” said DPW Commissioner Garret Meal.
